General information and Procedures for Shipping:

Although I will start on your carbs immediately, once they arrive, I will work on them in conjunction with any other sets already "in house".

DO NOT tear your carbs apart, just wrap them in plastic and send them as a whole. This way I am sure all necessary parts are there before I begin my rebuild. Upon completion all you should have to do is mount them on the bike and make slight adjustments to the idle and synchronizing settings.

I do also request that once you get your carbs back, you double check the float settings due to the movement of the needle and seat during shipping. This can sometimes cause the floats to stick in place and flood the carb. So check before you install!

For those who want to know:
It is not possible for me to synchronize your carbs on-the-bench. If you are not aware of this, synchronizing is not done off the bike, but MUST be done while your bike is running with the carbs on it. Anyone who says that they can synchronize your carbs off the bike is feeding you a bunch of baloney. Synchronizing is done to compensate for your individual cylinders different vacuum strengths, since all cylinder compressions are rarely equal. Know that I will set your synchronizing screws close to where they should be to start the bike, but you must do them one final time for an accurate setting once the carbs are put back on the bike and it starts and is running.

If you deside to send me a set of carbs, dry them out well so that they don't smell of noxious fuel. Wrapping them in a couple of plastic ziplock bags works well to cover any odors up.

For USA customers:
Send them regular United States Post Office with a Delivery Confirmation option. I prefer that you don't send them signature delivery or insure them as I am not usually in the shop when they come. Simply send them as regular parcel mail and they will get to me just fine. Both UPS or USPS Delivery Confirmation tells you that they made it to me safe and sound. Please include in the box with the carbs (in a seperate envelope or ziplock bag) your check, return address, phone numbers and/or email address, along with the year and model of your bike. If you want to include a list of the problems you were having with them, then I'll look at those specific areas for trouble.

For International customers I accept Paypal only, and charge return shipping fees extra in addition to the restoration fee. Please email me for instructions and a cost estimate before you ship them to me if you live outside the USA. Please include in the box with the carbs (in a seperate envelope or ziplock bag) return address, phone numbers and/or email address, along with the year and model of your bike. If you want to include a list of the problems you were having with them, then I'll look at those specific areas for trouble.

Please let me know, by email, if you intend to send your carbs in, so I can schedule it. I work on a "first come, first serve basis". At times I might have several carbs in the shop at once, so scheduling is highly recommended. By all means feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. My turn around always seems to be around 2-3 weeks, depending on what comes in each week. Use this as a general guideline. It could even be more or less, depending on seasonal swings in volume.
